Three people were found shot to death Sunday morning inside an apartment in the Carmichael area of Sacramento County, officials said. Deputies with the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office were dispatched around 7 a.m. to Lance Apartments, a facility run by Mercy Housing, on El Camino Avenue near the intersection of Landwood Way, the sheriff's office said. Upon arrival, officers found three people who had been fatally shot. It was unclear what time the shooting took place, the sheriff's office said. A homicide investigation is underway. Sgt. Alex Zakrzewski with the sheriff’s office said a family member made the initial 911 call. Arriving deputies saw bullet holes in the front of the residence, but it was too early to know whether the shots were fired from inside or outside the building.
