Dorset Careers Hub: Teachers Encounters - Maths at work in Dorset

Описание: 18 teachers of maths and careers, attended the Maths at Work in Dorset Teacher Encounter event, hosted by AFC Bournemouth, and in partnership with Sunseeker International Ltd, YTL Corporation Bhd, Marriott International, Yunex Traffic.

Taking place at The Vitality Stadium, teachers had the opportunity to meet representatives from a range of sectors, gaining an insight into the numerous roles in which maths is embedded into their practice.

Attendees had the opportunity to:

📈 Gain an insight into roles by a panel of experts, across a range of departments at AFC Bournemouth.
💬 Expand their knowledge about technical education pathways (Apprenticeships, T levels), delivered by Dorset and Somerset Training Provider Network.
⚽ A tour of the stadium with the EDI team, who explained the psychology used when preparing the teams for Home vs Away games.
🤝 Take part in a presentation and carousel network opportunity with key sector representatives from Sunseeker International Ltd, YTL Corporation Bhd, Marriott International, Yunex Traffic. This gave a further in-depth view of how maths knowledge is being used across a range of sectors, and the different jobs outside of traditional roles where it is believed maths skills will be needed.

⭐ "Look beyond the employer name to a variety of roles, introduce employer talks and case studies, include industry led workshops".
