This town is renowned for its mythological and historical importance. According to legends, sage Uddhava is known to have performed severe penance at this place. Also, Purasara, the founder of astrology, has been known to conduct various experiments on the movements of planets and stars.
The Royal Palace and a Nandi bull are some of the main attractions of Narendra Nagar. There is also a holy temple named as Kunjapuri temple and it is one of the most visited places of Tehri district. In this video, Kunal Madhav explores this idyllic destination, the former capital of Tehri state.
