In Gotham City, Oswalda Cobblepot, known as the "Penguin," targets rival mob boss Rupert Thorne but inadvertently leaves a power vacuum for him after being cornered by Batman.
Later on GCPD detective Renee Montoya investigates the disappearance of actress Yvonne Frances, The Secret Lover of Bruce Wayne, and uncovers a deranged actor, Basil Karlo, who has become the villain "Clayface."
Finishing his time with Yvonne Frances, Bruce Wayne encounters Selina Kyle, who turns to crime as "Catwoman" to escape debt. Batman outwits her, leaving her destitute and defeated.
Amidst these events, Bruce must also grapple with his own demons in mandatory therapy sessions with Dr. Harleen Quinzel.
