Voyager - Desire (Dave Wallace Mix) (1997)

Описание: Another one I should redo the description for, so I am! This one originally took a lot of hunting on my end for an OK quality FLAC to archive, but I had to chase one down because this tune is so whimsically happy and feel-go to me...This solidified Dave Wallace's name for me so easily, and it was the second track I've ever listened from them too which should speak volumes.

The track opens with a nostalgic high frequency feed-back sample that somehow isn't really even harsh on the ears (great mixing cough cough) and an almost quirky take on a drum and bass drumline with bongos leading the the main rhythm! The bongos are nice and light while the kick is GORGEOUSLY beefy in the best way filling the lack of 'volume' during a build up of an intro. It immediately catches my attention as the beautifully creative whimsical nature flute fades in followed by a beautiful 'divine' chord pad that sort of does this very subtle pulsating/pan effect that I find really pleasant. This leads into one of the most creative tunes with an astonishing fusion of sounds to groove to till the end of time really...

Also the little interlude at 5:12 is so cute and just cozy to the ears! Annnnd the unfathomably ludicrously brilliant choppy drum sample immediately after just to bring it all back into play with a strong left-fielded switch-up is just so GOOOOOOOOD. GOD this is a GOOD SONG. IT'S GOOD.
