Companies are facing the challenge for scaling their compute and AI infrastructure- while needing to reach net-zero goals which requires a substantial carbon footprint (40%) reduction by 2030. To address this challenge- we would share a framework which includes:\n1) Energy/Carbon Proportional Edge Computing: an architecture blueprint for sustainable edge infrastructure- which including leveraging OCP efforts on hardware architecture (openEDGE & Edge-MHS) for Edge with cooling capabilities and software optimization that would allow energy/carbon aware workload time and space shifting- along with energy proportional system optimizations to achieve energy/carbon proportionality without affecting workload SLO.\n2) Developing a standardized “Carbon aware Sustainability APIs” at infrastructure level- which provides orchestration to manage operational carbon footprint at workload and also at application level."
