Yemen Houthi rebels launch attacks on Red Sea cargo ships

Описание: Houthi rebels have released footage of attacks on two cargo ships travelling through the Red Sea - a critical waterway for the world's oil and commodities. The Iran-backed militant group used missiles and drones to sink a Liberian-flagged bulk carrier, killing four of the 24 crew, according to a European Union naval force.

Earlier, a Greek-owned vessel was also targeted and sunk, with all the crew rescued. A Houthi spokesperson said the attacks were in solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza.

The group had agreed to a ceasefire with the US in May, promising to keep important shipping lanes in the Middle East open, but in June warned it could target Israeli ships if the US struck Iran.
