Building a Shipping container home, what are we thinking?

With virtually no tools or skills we decided to build a home out of shipping containers. After a long debate if we could or should downsize, it seems that this is one way to accomplish our dreams to be mortgage and rent free have horses etc. In the coming months we will be able to have a 1500 sq. foot home and be off the grid solar wind and well or cistern. With an initial investment it would end up costing about $25,000-50,000 taking pretty much all our savings and hopefully not any fingers, limbs or worse. So far the only accident is a shard that has been seared in the eye. Only time will tell if we can do it. Stay connected with us for more plans on this crazy endeavor to build a home.
