As part of the Perpetual Planet Initiative, Rolex Awards Laureate Miranda Wang invented a way to break down formerly unrecyclable plastics into reusable elements. Now, she has shown it can work on an industrial scale. Wang’s first-of-its-kind demonstration plant turns low-value plastic waste, like shopping bags and shampoo bottles, into high-value material.
