This week I'm visiting two of the many gardens run by the South Hills Interfaith Movement. The gardens help long time residents with food insecurity and create a community for those moving here from other countries.
I'm also in the garden planting a container with a plant gifted from last week's guest Frank Pizzi.
Don't forget to love your lilies too, I've got tips on saving money when planting them.
Rob Kruljac from Davey Tree shows how to identify trees.
“Gardening is fun,” Doug says, “you can truly enjoy every day spent outside when you’re tending vegetables, flowers, shrubs, and trees.”
Whether you’re new to gardening or a seasoned tender to your backyard oasis, Doug Oster has something to offer everyone! Simply put, he loves writing about gardening and highlighting gardeners.
Beyond writing, Doug is also an Emmy Award-winning producer, and television host. You can catch Doug hosting The Organic Gardener Radio Show, every Sunday morning at 7 a.m. on Pittsburgh’s KDKA Radio, and read his feature articles in the Pittsburgh Earth Day’s Green Voice e-newsletter.
