300 meters below Naica, Mexico is a crystal cave. A big one. THE CAVE OF THE CRYSTALS was discovered in 1910 by two brothers who were mining in the area. The largest crystals on earth can be found here, some over 40 feet long. The cave is still largely unexplored because the environment inside is extremely hostile, with average temperatures reaching 58 °C (136 °F) and 99% humidity. Without the proper equipment, you would only last about ten minutes inside. It’s believed that further chambers exist, but would require a significant amount of crystal removal to gain access. Only time will tell.
