P Class 178 bids farewell | 'The Bluebell Railway' 4th October 2020

After it's first 10 years of preservation service, SE&CR P Class 178 ran it's last train on the Bluebell Railway over the weekend of the 3rd & 4th of October 2020.
With it's current boiler ticket expiring within the week, the 0-6-0 was teamed up with fellow SE&CR Loco, H Class 263, on 'The Pioneer' timetable service throughout what was a wet and blustery weekend, to commemorate the end of a faithful 10 years service to the line.
Through the years the loco has proven very popular with both enthusiasts and the general public. She also has stared at many events including the lines 50th anniversary celebrations in 2010 & the opening to East Grinstead in 2013. It also helped carry the line during the loco drought of 2011-13, working in tandem with fellow P Class 323 'Bluebell' to supplement for the lack of bigger engines available.
A fine edition to the Bluebells renowned small engine collection, and one that will be missed for the duration of her resting years. Hope you enjoy!
