As social media continues to dominate our lives, we are pressured to maintain an online brand, a constant aesthetic, and a perceived reality. We put on a happy face and lean into the virtual character we’ve created to garner a new form of currency: views, double-taps, and thumbs-ups - digital diamonds that generate our self-worth. Don’t mess up or show vulnerability, unless it is deliberate, since we love occasional authenticity. After all, diamonds are a girl’s best friend.
