The full trust of the American public both in the industry and the FAA is required for the urban air mobility (UAM) (AAM) revolution to move forward. This is the sixth part of a 6 episode podcast series with industry experts, featuring John Illson and Danielle Rinsler discussing the elements of public trust, safety, regulations, and recommendations that will move the technology forward. Our discussion is informed by the report, "Bridging the Gap: Sustaining UAS Progress While Pursuing a Permanent Regulatory Framework" from the Eno Center for Transportation.
Uber’s ground breaking Elevate program (soon to be part of Joby Aviation) is single handedly responsible for ushering in the age of on demand quiet electric aircraft (eVTOL) that fly above the grid and across cities. It presents an entirely new mode of transportation. Joining us is Danielle Rinsler, Head of Aviation Policy and John Illson, Head of Aviation Safety for Uber. We discuss the vehicles, propulsion technology, and community engagement key to moving forward.
These episodes are in partnership with the Eno Center for Transportation. Eno is an independent, nonprofit think tank focused on transportation. As an organization, Eno shapes public debate on critical multimodal transportation issues and builds an innovative network of transportation professionals. Eno’s Aviation Working Group is a standing advisory group on all matters relating to aviation policy. Their latest report, Bridging the Gap: Sustaining UAS Progress While Pursuing a Permanent Regulatory Framework, will inform today’s discussion.
