Описание: WHEN CANDY AND CALZONES COLLIDE: A Tale Of Pizza, Passion, and Pistachio Paste!

While we were in Florida this past week, we were fortunate enough to collab with Peter’s Pizzeria! A staple of the Pompano Beach food scene, Peter’s been bringing “New York Flava” to Florida since 2019.

Almost as soon as we arrived, Peter put the Candyologists to work on the pizza line. We started with some simple Treat-zzas – New York-style dough sauced with Nutella, and topped with pistachio paste, M&M’s, mini Reese’s, and Italian flag cake crumble!

Then, after some light grilling about his favourite candies, we got started on the calzones! We made two Neopolitan-style sweet street calzones made with cannoli filling and crushed Golden Oreos, and two savoury calzones with ricotta, prosciutto, provolone, and LOTS of freshly chopped basil!

When the time for tasting came, we were so excited to see our creations spread out across the table! Crispy crust, gooey chocolate, and the smell of toasted pistachio dancing in the air as the treat-zzas were carried over. Everything was amazing of course, but the cannoli calzone (naturally) was everyone’s favourite!

Peter’s love of traditional flavours and techniques was obvious from the start; but it was his passion for the craft and excitement over experimentation that really got our espriti creativi energized! When we suggested putting M&M’s and Oreos on a pizza, he didn’t even flinch! In fact, he suggested we crumble his Italian flag cake on top too!

Fun collabs like these are what we love to do, and a big part of what makes us Candy Funhouse! When we work together to co-create, we make unique, visually engaging content that brings fun to the forefront!
