"Peaches" is a 1977 single by The Stranglers that was included on their debut album Rattus Norvegicus. The song was written by the whole band (Jean Jacques Brunel - bass, Hugh Cornwell - guitar and vocals, Dave Greenfield - keyboards and Jet Black - drums).

A well as quite a distorted tone, Burnel picks quite close to the bridge which helps the bass to cut through the mix. Pick wise I'm currently favouring Dunlop Tortex .73mm picks.

The bass was recorded into Reason and then duplicated to two tracks. The first track was processed using Scream 4 on the "Fuzz" setting into the Kuassa Cerberus amp simulator to provide the distorted tone. The second track was processed using Scream 4 on the "tape" setting and then into Kuassa Cerberus to provide the "clean" tone. I applied a high pass filter set to 137Hz to the distorted track and a low pass filter set to 137Hz to the clean track. I also processed the clean track by pitch shifting it down an octave during the bridge sections.

When Moises.ai split the song into stems, the bass part also included the bass synthesiser part. I therefore ran a high filter set to 383Hz to remove as much of original bass guitar as possible whilst preserving the feel of the synth.
