Chim Chim Cher-ee is a wistful musical number from the 1964 musical-fantasy film Mary Poppins, starring Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke. In the film, Bert sings this song on the rooftops with Mary Poppins, going on to sing it in small snippets throughout the film. Chim Chim Cher-ee won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in the year of its release, and is one of Julie Andrew's favourite songs from Disney. The song was originally inspired by a drawing of a chimney sweep created by the screenwriter of the film, Don DaGradi.
