Meet the Wilson family—Chris, Mandy, and their five children: Kael, Moci, Meilin, Indigo, and Crew. Their story is one of love, adoption, resilience, and hope.

Through the adoption of their children, the Wilsons were introduced to beta thalassemia major, a rare genetic blood disorder that requires lifelong care. For Moci, Meilin, and Kael, survival depends on blood transfusions every three weeks at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

Despite the challenges, the Wilson kids thrive—excelling in school, running cross country, dancing ballet, and living life to the fullest. But behind the scenes, their journey includes hours in transfusion bays, doctor visits, and the unwavering support of their siblings, Indigo and Crew.

For more than a decade, the Wilsons have leaned on the expert care and compassion of the Nationwide Children’s team. And now, with new gene therapy treatments on the horizon, their family has hope for a cure that once felt out of reach.
