On our first visit in the morning, they didn’t have any non-veg items, so we came back the next day around 5 PM—and it was totally worth it. We tried a full spread: parotta, appam, idiyappam, beef fry, beef curry, and the star of the show—beef roast. Paired with soft idiyappam, the beef roast stood out with bold flavors and perfect texture. I can confidently say this was one of the best beef roasts I’ve had in Kollam!

Known locally as Ochira Kada, this modest roadside tea shop is a hidden gem in Thannikkalmukku. Locals rave about its strong chai, quick service, and hearty meat combos, and now I know why. Open from 6 AM to 9 PM (except Sundays), Malu Tea Shop draws a loyal crowd for its classic Kerala-style beef dishes, especially in the evenings. If you’re in Kollam and craving authentic flavors, this place deserves a spot on your must-visit list.
