I recently found a skid plate, for the transfer case on my 05 Jeep WK, at the junkyard. I didn't know these were an option from the factory on these jeeps. Mine, of course, didn't come with one. so I had to modify the gas tank skid plate to make this work. BUT I also dropped the gas tank skid plate to pound a huge dent out of it. So now, I might get an extra mile per tank in added fuel. I show how I did all that in this video.
