I’ve decided to head west in search of warmer weather and travel all the way around Kyushu. After driving to Osaka and taking the ferry to Shin-Moji, I’ve made my way into the heart of Fukuoka.
First, I stopped at Hakata Station to pick up some "Hakata Torimon"—a favorite souvenir for my family. While I walked from Tenjin to Nakasu last year, this year I decided to walk from Hakata Station to Nakasu. Despite the distance, the streets were surprisingly busy with people making their way toward the nightlife.
Entering Nakasu, I was met with its signature chaotic energy. Along Chuo-dori, long lines of promoters stood ready to greet customers, while lively, tipsy crowds drifted through the neon-lit streets. It’s a scene that surprises me every time, but it’s exactly what makes Nakasu feel so alive. It was an intense and vibrant walk after sunset.
