Menorcan fiestas, or "festes," are traditional celebrations held across the island of Menorca, Spain, and are characterized by vibrant parades, music, and colourful events centred around Menorca's prized horses. The horses, predominantly of the indigenous Menorcan breed, are the highlight of these fiestas, performing unique stunts and trotting styles. The horses rear up on their hind legs and gracefully step forward, sometimes carrying riders who balance skillfully.
These festivities, especially notable in the towns of Ciutadella and Mahón, celebrate local culture and religious traditions, often in honour of patron saints, with the Fiesta de Sant Joan being the most famous.
