It's a town with rich history, and when you compare it to most Illinois cities and towns, it seems to be in good economic shape in modern times. However, there was a company that was headquartered here years ago that specialized in the use of toxic paint. That toxic paint is said to be the reason for 16 Superfund sites throughout the city.
