Surprisingly, Hyderabad-based MIM made its maiden entry into the Maharashtra Assembly pocketing two seats. Lok Sabha MP Asaduddin Owaisi’s MIM candidates won Aurangabad Central and Byculla seat in Mumbai defeating Shiv Sena and BJP nominees respectively. The biggest loser of the 2014 assembly election in Maharashtra perhaps is Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navanirman Sena (MNS) . The party contested 232 seats out of the 288 seats in the assembly and won only one seat in its worst ever performance.
