Morrison government invests $747m in NT army barracks

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has announced $747 million to improve army barracks in the Northern Territory in what he described as another “significant step forward” in ensuring Australia has the “best training facilities of anywhere in the world”.
Speaking at the Robertson Barracks in the NT, Prime Minister Morrison announced the funding will go towards four key military training areas and will include improving battle simulation, new technology, and medical facilities.
Mr Morrison said the funding for Robertson Barracks, Kangaroo Flats, Mount Bundy Training Area and particularly the Bradfield Shaw Training Area will provide training opportunies for the ADF to “at the top of their game”.
The prime minister said the continued investment in Australia’s defence forces will ensure the Indo-Pacific is safe and peaceful while also protecting and “advancing our national interests”.
