One of my favorite parts of living in Southern California is that it's possible to work out at the beach year round. It's a great alternative to the gym! Because the sand is a loose surface rather than solid ground, your feet, calves, legs and core have to work hard to keep you balanced. This recruit more muscle fibers and really works all those small muscles that work to keep you balanced and stabile. Try these 13 exercises for a great sand workout!
