this song is so fuckin good. the base of the chord progression is fundamentally classic rock, built around A minor like so many zeppelin and zz top tracks, and the verses have like fifteen different licks that just sit so rhythmically in the pocket.
this is also probably my favorite chris pennie era drum track, other than maybe world of lines from YOBR. taylor hawkins' blast on the snare in the second verse is such a fun flourish (see 1:47). what a tune! and what an under-appreciated coheed track. I'd love to see them play it live, but I know it's a sensitive song for claud.
onward to Year of the Black Rainbow, my second favorite coheed album behind GA1
