Gyumri is Armenia's second biggest city. In 1988, it was devastated by the Spitak Earthquake, which claimed approximately 50,000 lives and left around 100,000 people homeless. Most of Gyumri’s heritage buildings were flattened.
The city has been constantly rebuilding since the tragedy and is now attracting tourists with its black and apricot architecture and beautiful centre.
Join me as I explore a city still recovering from the tragedy of the 1988 earthquake.
