The band was under the direction of their enthusiastic Director of Music Fregattenkapitän (Commander/Lieutenant Colonel) Matthias Prock, who also performed on accordion during the song 'Karla with a K'.

This video also shows the combined military bands from German and other NATO military bands taking part in the tattoo celebrating NATO and also recognising the formation of the 4th Panzer Brigade in Lithuania by German troops earlier this year.

Personal note:
I really enjoyed this display starting with a fantastically performed Trombone Quartet leading into the full band, complemented by rhythm section. A poignant rendition of Sailing and a cracking trumpet solo. The 80’s song ‘Karla with a K’, new to me, but a great addition and a real treat seeing the Director of Music step out of the conducting role to play Accordion! A real entertaining tattoo performance.

Fun fact:
This was the band that the esteemed March composer W.Zehle served in.
