Regaining strength after blood cancer; Craig's cancer rehabilitation success

Описание: In August 2024, Craig Ramsay was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) — a type of blood cancer. He came to see ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation Physical Therapist Scott Kramer prior to his allogenic bone marrow transplant, a procedure to replace damaged bone marrow with healthy stem cells from a donor.

This pre-surgical rehabilitation provided Craig the ability to go into his transplant a little stronger.

Even still, Craig didn't realize how you can take balance and stability for granted. Since his transplant, he has continued to work with Scott to improve his activity levels.

Not originally from the area, Craig has been staying at Hope Lodge to be close to his doctors. While it is a great resource, it has posed some barriers to him, like access to exercise activities. That's where Scott has been able to help.

Craig's bone marrow transplant team is often concerned about hygiene and infection prevention, but Scott was able to work with him to make sure everyone was masked and isolated from other patients.
