I first met Duke Robillard forty years ago when I went to hear his groundbreaking ensemble, Roomful of Blues, at a bar in Rochester, New York. Even though I had an early morning radio shift a few hours later at WCMF, an album oriented FM station, the music was so incredible that I stayed late to get a chance to hang out with the band members as they loaded the van after the set. Through over forty albums and CD's, Duke's music still moves audiences all over the globe.

After Parkinson’s Disease put a limit on my subsequent decades of legal practice, Duke and I got back in touch, and we have enjoyed the continuation of an extended conversation about music and life.

But it was not until July, 2016, that I finally was able to sit down with Duke at Jack Gauthier’s famed Lakewest Recording Studio in Rhode Island and record a long overdue interview.

Duke and his bassist Brad Hallen recorded some exceptional music for our Blues Radio International listeners, including this original composition.
