A CRUEL ANGEL THESIS 3.0+1.0 (The End of Evangelion) Is: A Tribute to the Neon Genesis Evangelion Franchise. A musical Time Capsule Containing the horrors of the Third impact & The End of all Life in NGE. A retelling of The End of Evangelion (1997) The Pain of Shinji Ikari, the Third Child The otherworldly transcendent larger-than-life resonance of the Black Moon, the Three of Life, the EVA`s, The Angels, Adam & Lilith or just The End of Eva in 3 minutes.

Built around Eri Kawai`s Devine interpretation of A cruel Angel Thesis It is a also A cruel Angel thesis revamped, A cruel Angel thesis reconstructed. A cruel Angel thesis Rewritten, Recomposed & reimagined. All this in a way so that goes hand in hand with the End of Evangelion and the more serious parts of NGE in general.

We wanted to make something special when approaching this project & thanks to Eri Kawai`s Version of “Zankoku na tenshi no tēze” we were able to do that. We asked ourselves: how would the end of the world sound? And this is what we came up with.

No bullshit, no synths, nothing that distracts Just a drum set and a choir that set the sky’s ablaze. Beautiful yet cruel like the Anti LCL waves that literally turn the entire human population in EOE to Fanta. We amped up the already church like vibe of Eri`s version a bit and ran with a structure and sound that almost is classical in a way. That’s gangsta because:
Hideaki Anno had originally wanted to use a piece of classical music as the opening, but due to concern that this might confuse the anime viewership, a decision was made to use a more upbeat J-pop song instead. A fact we found out about when production was already fully done lol.

Over the years countless people deconstructed and analyzed NGE and The End of Eva to the core. There’s like millions of theories on what it’s all supposed to mean. Its probably the most analyzed anime of all time. So much so that people often tend to forget what happens on the freaking screen. And what happens on the freaking screen is what we wanted to structure our song around. the Third impact & The end of the world, The End of all Life as we know it (in NGE) A CRUEL ANGEL THESIS 3.0+1.0 is just that! Pure and raw. It is supposed to hit you like a freakin truck.
But to not ramble on for too long, there is a slogan on the original movie poster of “the end of Evangelion” it says: A visual tour-de-force and a mesmerizing climax to one of the greatest anime series of all time
Well we tried to make: A sonically tour de force and a mesmerizing tribute to one of the greatest anime series of all time and we hope you enjoy it.

NOTE: A CRUEL ANGEL THESIS 3.0+1.0 (The End of Evangelion) is actually just one part of a 16-minute long composition. It is track 6 or rather ACT 6 on the A CRUEL ANGEL THESIS 3.0+1.0 Echoes of Evangelion EP. We will release this EP later in 2020. Watch out for it =)
