Due to the Great Toilet Paper crisis of 2020, and shortage of cleaning/disinfecting supplies plus other disposable/paper products, such as baby wipes, this video teaches how to make reusable cloth wipes at home in just a few simple steps. So easy to do and takes just a few minutes. Not only will you be reducing your carbon footprint 👣 and helping the environment but you can also stop stressing about running out or where to get more. No need to panic when seeing the empty shelves at stores anymore.
Reusable cloth wipes are gentle and easy to use. There is no special laundering required, they can be thrown straight in to the wash (the same as what people normally do with soiled/wet baby clothes, blankets etc).
You can store the wipes dry, store dry and wet them right before using, or store moist and sealed in a container or pop-up container such as an empty baby wipes box.
***You can use a spray bottle of the solution to wet the wipes as needed, rather than having them premoistened.***

WHAT MATERIALS DO YOU NEED:
1. Scissors ✂️
2. Marker 🖊
3. Any absorbent material of your choice (cotton, bamboo, etc).***
4. Old baby wipes box or other sealed container if storing wet wipes.
5. Disinfectant for cleaning wipes or solution for baby/bathroom wipes.
***🌟The Fabrics I use are from Nature’s Fabric and are Bamboo Baby Loop Terry and Bamboo French Terry......which doesn’t require any sewing 🧵, and it will not fray! (Yay—cuz I’m lazy lol).🌟***

HOW TO MAKE THEM:
1. Lay your fabric out flat then fold in half
2. Fold in half again
3. Continue folding in half until you have a section large enough to make your pattern.
4. Trace a washcloth or draw your own lines for the pattern—should be approximately 8”x8”.
5. Cut around your pattern through all the layers of the material at one time. (Depending on your material, You could possibly use pinking shears to minimize fraying)
6. Cut the folded edges of your fabric.
DONE!!
💥NOTE: depending on the type of material you used, it may be necessary to sew 🧵 the edges to prevent fraying.

DISINFECTANT: Moisten wipes with your choice of disinfectant—there are several different DIY methods for making your own if supplies are limited. Then you can use the wipe the same as any other normal disinfectant wipe.

BABY WIPES 👶🏻 or premoistened bathroom/cleansing
wipes:
For the solution, dissolve a wipe bit in warm water and pour solution in to a spray bottle or directly over the cloth wipes (if being stored in a pop-up box or container).
You can make your own baby wipe/cleansing wipes solution by mixing in just a dab of baby wash and coconut oil, then add any Essential Oil of your choice (optional).
Many people use just water, or just water and baby soap to moisten their wipes, and those are perfectly fine as well; however, I personally LOVE using Wipe Bits from WeeEssentials because they’re refreshing, cleansing, and leave the skin soooooo soft—plus they’re SUPER AFFORDABLE and made from all natural products so yaaaay—it’s a win win!
