Note: I am aware there are different, longer versions of these songs in the episodes that air on TV. Once I can find those I will delete this video and upload a new one.
Something I love about Hanazuki, is that it has some pretty cool music! I like how most characters have recurring leitmotifs that are heard whenever they are mentioned or appear on screen. Some notes about the music on this video:
0:00, 1:05, 1:30, 2:19 and 9:50 are Hanazuki's motif. This song is heard in almost all episodes of the show. 9:35 is a mix between this motif and Kiazuki's
3:10 is, I believe, never used on the episode. However, this same melody can be heard during Sleepy's first dream. A lot of these songs are never actually heard on the show, so they could be parts of songs that ended up not being used, or songs made specifically for the credits
1:05 is the song that's heard when Hanazuki talks to Mirror Plant in Slow Sand Rises. Notice how the song "mirrors" itself? This happens almost every time Mirror Plant imitates a character. This song is almost the same when played backwards
1:54 : This melody can be heard several times throughout the episodes Seeing Red and Building Blocks, from season 2. This is the motif for Red Hemka, also used for when a character feels Feisty
2:45 and 5:06 are Chicken Plant's motif, also used for Chicken Plant's babies
3:50 and 9:05 are Doughy Bunington's motif
4:06 is Basil Ganglia's motif
4:21 is a mix between Little Dreamer's motif and the Big Bad's. 8:07 is also Little Dreamer's motif
4:36 : Though Dazzlessence Jones doesn't have a specific melody as his motif, a lot of the music heard whenever he speaks is in this style
8:50 is Sleepy Unicorn's motif, also used for Twisted and sometimes for the other unicorns. 4:51 has part of this melody, too
5:21 is Zikoro's motif
5:50 is Kiyoshi's motif
6:21 is from Better Together
7:21 is from Friend or Foe
There are other characters that have motifs, but they are never used for the credits of an episode/short
A longer version of the abbreviated intro song is also used for the credits of some episodes. This song uses Vocaloid instead of actual singers (presumably Miku and Rana???)
John Jennings Boyd and Eric V. Hachikian are credited for the music in the show
