You basically have a limited about of time to drop 50 balls into rotating buckets, and to get the jackpot (starts at 500, goes up incrementally to 1,000 as people don't win). Once the jackpot gets above 720, the game gives you a LITTLE more time (a few seconds) to drop the balls which makes it so you do not have to drop 5 in one bucket (on a normal timed game you have to do this twice) which is extremely difficult, but still possible.
