🌊 Precast for Oikos Storage Ltd’s Deep Water Jetty 🏗️
ABM Precast Solutions is proud to have partnered with BAM Nuttall Limited and Haydn Evans Consulting to deliver over 430 tonnes of bespoke precast concrete deck sections for a new deep water jetty at Oikos Storage Ltd’s Canvey Island facility on the River Thames Estuary.
This state-of-the-art jetty will service ships up to 120,000 tonnes, delivering bulk jet fuel to the facility.
💡 Project Highlights:
✔️ 8 x 15m reinforced concrete beams with connection details for tubular steel piles.
✔️ 22 deck units placed between beams to form the main jetty platform.
✔️ Cast-in fixings for edge protection and operational equipment to reduce on-site construction processes in the challenging off-shore environment.
✔️ A full trial erection carried out at our Nottinghamshire facility to ensure seamless installation.
In a complex logistical operation, the precast components were delivered to a port in north Kent and transported by barge to the installation site. This innovative solution highlights the power of collaboration and precision engineering in tackling complex infrastructure projects.
