PROGRAM NOTE:
This suite is in three movements:
I. Dulce Añoranza (Sweet Yearning) by Albert Hernandez, Venezuelan composer. This is a lyric waltz reminiscent of Colonial Caracas; a red-roofed elegant city. The composer evokes numerous colors between the piano and strings meanwhile using the solo violinist as a means of expressive intensity.
II. Ballad by Trino Jimenez, Venezuelan composer and arranger. Beautiful ballad representing the immensity and depth of the Caribbean sea which surrounds the Venezuelan coast.
III. Guayana - Pasaje Llanero by Pablo Camacaro, Venezuelan Composer. The Guayana is one of the most ancient and impressive rock formations in the world. A Tepuy is a table- top mountain or mesa found in the Guiana Highlands of south America. This is the inspiration behind this movement which closes the suite with a brilliant ending. This version for solo violin and Chamber ensemble was specially arranged for the Apollo Chamber Players by Trino Jimenez.

Esta suite consta de tres movimientos:
I. Vals Dulce Añoranza por Albert Hernandez, compositor Venezolano. Es un bello vals cantabile que evoca a las cuidad de Caracas en la época Colonial. Describe una ciudad elegante y de techados rojo. El compositor logra atmósferas ricas en coloraturas entre el piano y las cuerdas teniendo al violin solista como medio de intensidad expresiva.
II. Balada por Trino Jimenez, compositor y arreglaste Venezolano. Esta bella balada representa la inmensidad y profundidad del mar Caribe que se encuentra presente a lo largo y ancho de toda la costa venezolana.
III. Guayana - Pasaje Llanero por Pablo Camacaro, compositor Venezolano. La Guayana es una de las partes mas antiguas e imponentes del mundo, como lo es Tepuy. Una clase de meseta especialmente abrupta, con paredes verticales y cimas relativamente planas características del escudo Guayanes. Con este paisaje Guayana cierra de manera brillante esta extraordinaria Suite para violin solista y ensamble de cámara.
