H.E. Saeed Mohammed Hareb (Secretary General - Dubai Sports Council)
Saeed Hareb’s professional life is an impressive list of achievements, unexpected turns and the constant embracing of challenge and teamwork. “None of this would have been possible without teamwork.”
As a youth he sailed the Arabian sea in dhows and played football on the sands of Shindagah on the mouth of Dubai Creek where he lived, a fitting beginning for someone who would play such an important role in developing beach soccer in his adult life.
He is credited with introducing Class 1 powerboat racing to the UAE in 1992. This, after playing a key role in the establishment of the Dubai International Marine Club at Mina Al Seyahi and the UAE’s registration with the Union Internationale Motonautique, the international governing body of powerboating. And actually it's thanks to Class 1 I met Saeed in 2004, when I decided to move to Dubai.
Saaed love cycling, he ride his bike 25/30 km every day. And thanks to him the Dubai Tour (now UAE Tour) landed in Dubai in 2014.
