It didn’t go perfectly as we made a planning mistake and missed Mirador Francés and Mirador Británico, but we still hit some of the most iconic viewpoints in Chilean Patagonia.

Our 3‑Day W Trek Itinerary

Day 1 – Mirador Grey
• From Puerto Natales to Pudeto by bus
• Catamaran from Pudeto to Paine Grande
• Trek to Mirador Grey
• Wind, rain, and classic wild Patagonia weather
Day 2 – Camp Francés to Central
• Hike from Camp Francés to Camp Central
• Views over Lago Nordenskjöld and the Paine Massif
• Why our original plan to reach Mirador Francés and Británico didn’t work out and viewpoints closing times.
Day 3 – Base of the Towers (Mirador Base Torres)
• Early start from Camp Central
• Problems not having a guide
• Long, steep hike to Mirador Base Torres and back the same day
• Final thoughts on doing the W Trek in 3 days and what we would change next time

W Trek Packing List :
Clothing
• Waterproof shell jacket (windproof & breathable)
• Lightweight insulated jacket (down or synthetic)
• 1–2 moisture‑wicking base layers (tops)
• Fleece or mid‑layer
• Trekking pants (1 lighter, 1 warmer / water‑resistant)
• Thermal leggings (for sleeping or cold mornings)
• 3–4 pairs hiking socks + 1 warm pair for camp
• Waterproof hiking boots with good ankle support (V.Imp)
• Beanie, cap, and lightweight gloves
Gear
• Backpack
• Refillable water bottles or hydration bladder
• Trekking poles (very helpful for descents and long days)
• Headlamp with extra batteries (for early starts to Base Torres)
• Sunglasses + high‑SPF sunscreen and lip balm
• Compact first‑aid kit (blister care, pain relief, tape)
• Quick‑dry travel towel
• Power bank and charging cables
• Wind Buff
• Lightweight camera or action cam + extra batteries and memory cards

Documents & Essentials
• Park reservation confirmations (camping / refugios)
• Passport and entry documents
• Cash for park facilities, tours/ Guides and extras
