Beryllium is the 4th element in the periodic table and one of the least dense elements. It's incredibly stiff, is a good conductor of electricity, and is transparent to X-rays. Tools made from an alloy of copper and Beryllium are non-magnetic and won't make sparks if hit or dropped - very important in mining and petroleum production!
Edit: At 2:10 in the video I misread the date when metallic Beryllium was first isolated as "1928" when I should have said "1828". Since Youtube does not allow editing videos without losing all the stats, this is the only way I can correct my error. Thank you for your patience.
