Opposition Leader Peter Dutton says China's Premier Li Qiang's visit gives him “hope” for Australia’s and China’s relationship in the future.
“I hope it sends to you premier a very clear message of how we regard the relationship and how we intend to continue to work with you,” Mr Duuton said.
“In our hospitality today and your acceptance of it, I believe there is hope, hope that tensions from recent years can ameliorate.
“Hope that we can reinvigorate the constructive spirit which defined our singing of a free trade agreement in 2015.”
