Liverpool Castle in Rivington, near Bolton, is a 20th-century replica of the original medieval Liverpool Castle, commissioned in 1912 by Lord Leverhulme (William Hesketh Lever). Designed as a romantic ruin to complement his estate, construction stopped upon his death in 1925, leaving it unfinished. It sits in Lever Park, providing a popular, free-to-visit, and picturesque attraction
Ghosts = a 20th-century replica reported to be haunted by a white-robed figure. Built in 1912 as a "sham ruin," this site has seen sightings of a ghost gliding around the,precincts, as well as reports of sudden temperature drops and mysterious shadows, adding to its eerie, often-visited atmosphere
