Their only and main evidence to support this assertion is the premise that the sermon of ghadeer was delivered in response to complaints of companions. In essence, according to Omaris, the Nabi صلى الله عليه و آله و سلم was defending Amir al-Munineen's reputation عليه السلام, addressing ill feelings that some companions had for him, and reaffirming that he is indeed an ally and helper of Muslims and Muslims should love him.
