BELOW FREEZING - Is It Too Cold To Pour Concrete? (Winter Concrete Mix)

We have to pour a lot of concrete floors in the winter months. When it's freezing outside, we use a special concrete mix so the concrete will set up.
The mix we use is a 4000 psi mix with hot water (150 degrees), water reducer, fibermesh, and accelerator.
The temperature of the concrete when it arrives on the jobsite is usually around 68 degrees F.
The outside temps can be as low as 10 - 15 degrees F in the morning with a High of around 28 F and the concrete will still set up. But you should cover it with concrete blankets to ensure it doesn't freeze. The sooner the better.
We have to power trowel most our floors so we need it to set up fairly fast, that's why we use accelerator. This mix has worked good for us over the years and allows us to pour concrete through the winter months.
