When our stress experiences as a child are manageable, moderate, and mild we learn how to relate to our bodies & self-regulate.

But when we experience childhood trauma, our bodies can’t learn to manage our stress response properly. Our tiny bodies can’t handle the excessive stress and have to learn to cope with it by fearing that response altogether.

If you can’t self-regulate in stressful situations, you definitely won’t be able to co-regulate with your kids.

And we all know- parenting is stressful.

The biological process that was supposed to teach us how to regulate our bodies in stressful situations was disrupted, and our bodies have become our own worst enemy.

The good news is, you CAN learn how to relate to your body in adulthood, so that you can self-regulate, co-regulate, attune to your child’s needs, and build that strong & healthy attachment that you so badly want to foster for your kids.
