Описание: The success of What's Going On, both the single and the album, paved the way for Marvin Gaye's follow up, Inner City Blues(Make Me Wanna Holler), to top the Billboard charts the week of 11/6/71. The single stayed on top for two weeks. Berry Gordy Jr. didn;t like the What's Going On album at all and considered not even releasing it but was convinced however he was finally persuaded to release What's Going On as a single first. After that became a #1 hit smash, Gordy Jr. released the whole album in a hurry. The concept album has remained one of the most important albums ever produced and Berry Gordy Jr. originally thought the whole idea behind was trash!
