It's a clever nod to the fact that one, the attack has a dragon appearance, and also the fact that unlike something like morning peacock or evening elephant, which have animal names, Masashi Kishimoto put a swerve on fans by replacing the dragon with guy's own name, which is a side note, is one of the Naruto fans that read that manga weekly. This was something that trolled a bunch of fans on forms back in the days from English forms as well as Japanese forms because quite a few fans had picked up on the pattern of daytime and evening and the animals that Kishimoto was using. And the common consensus in both fandoms was that there would be an eighthgate attack called either night dragon or midnight dragon. But Kishimoto swerved everyone by having this be the only attack that had guy's name in it. But it still had the dragon appearance
