The Children’s Trust Books for Free
Operated by Miami Dade College
The Children’s Trust Books for Free is operated by Miami Book Fair at Miami Dade College. For 40 years, the Miami Book Fair has led the way for literacy in South Florida and focused its efforts on Miami’s underserved communities, schools and young readers.
The goal of Books for Free is to get more books in the hands of children who need them the most – magical, world-building, life-changing books that they can keep to read with their families over and over again. The program achieves this goal by delivering over 2,400 new and gently used books per week to 80 public bookshelves located in high-traffic locations throughout Miami-Dade County’s most underserved neighborhoods.
Books for Free also partners with community organizations for reading circles and live events that celebrate the joy of reading. All these books and events are free for children and their caregivers.
