Analysis:
Wei Yan's physical raw is very strong. It just is. I don't know why. Double-sided weapon multiplier? Maybe?
Wei Yan swings very fast and safe. Oddly enough, that's coming from a weapon with seemingly short range coverage, but that's actually not the case. His range varies from string to string. S1 is exceptionally long in range, as shown at 8:05 (look at the map and the disappearing red dots). With his Switch Attack buff, his range is improved by a noticeable amount, but he can reliably get things done without abusing it.
Like some S5 playstyles, his S1 is really fast. He can repeatedly use S1 to get behind an enemy's guard and proceed to S5 them to death in a flash of a second. Wei Yan has a really easy time ripping through shield peons and clearing crowds with S5. With a couple of swings, the enemies around his vicinity will be cleared.
Cyclone is nerfed and seems even more difficult to use on Wei Yan without the guard break help from it. However, using a wall or obstacle will remedy this. If an officer is close to a wall, repeatedly spam S5 to push the officer back, then proceed to C5 them. C5 has .... I don't know how many elemental activations, but more than enough to OHKO any officer with a full-hit.
If Cyclone doesn't seem necessary, replace it with whatever. Frenzy, Gale, etc.
Wei Yan mainly refills his Rage through kill counts with his Triumph weapon. Alternatively, he can utilize a dense crowd with Musou II to refill his Rage Musou. This is all done with his Triumph weapon. Wei Yan's Musou II is bench mark strong with his Musou weapon to OHKO generic playable and non-playable officers.
Don't bother with his Rage Musou. Instead, abuse his Rage in conjunction with his S5 to deal massive damage. Unfortunately, Wei Yan's shortcoming is being able to deal with playable officer pileup effectively in a consistent matter. It's either one-go or no-go for him under one Rage because his Rage Musou is unusable. Best way against a group of playable officer is use his Musou II to weaken the playables, then proceed to Rage S5 the weakened officers.
To be honest, no character is bad at officer pileup if they are up against mostly non-playable officers, with the exception for those that are terrible to begin with.
Overall, very easy and effective to play as. Just annoying to play as because he can never speak properly.
