I CLEARED the OVERGROWN Area to Make for a Future PLAYGROUND

Описание: Two new clients contacted me. The first one needed someone to tidy up her overgrown yard, as the homeowner wanted to turn it into a playground for the kids soon. So I had to trim the bushes, cut back all the excess growth, and mow the lawn—or rather, what used to be a lawn! It was a sunny day. When I arrived, I surveyed the work site. There were a few bushes she hadn’t mentioned, and I told her I could trim those as well. Then I saw a small yard with a tree in the middle and a couple of stumps from old trees. There was a small boxwood hedge around the perimeter, and on the garage there was ivy and an overgrown laurel bush. I also noticed that there were trees next to the fence—apparently apple trees—but everything there was overgrown. When I said I could also tidy up those trees, she refused, as she wanted to leave all the trees as they were so that there would be more shade for the children in the hot summer weather.
I started by trimming the bushes at the entrance, then moved into the yard and trimmed the rose bush, but there were metal mesh screens there that I removed, then trimmed the laurel bush, as well as trimmed the ivy on the garage wall and cut off a few branches from the magnolia growing nearby, since the branches were blocking the way into the yard. After that, I gathered the trimmings and took them to the trailer. Next, I tried to mow the grass near the hedge and trees with a trimmer, but there were tree sprouts growing everywhere, which kept snapping the line, so I decided to use an attachment with a metal blade to cut them down first. I also went through the hedge, but there I had to use a more powerful trimmer as well, and then I cleared out some of the overgrowth between the apple trees and the fence. Then I trimmed the boxwood hedge and started mowing the lawn; after removing the grass catcher, I mowed the lawn several times and then used a backpack blower to blow all the cut grass into a pile and collected it in a bag; I also cleared away a pile of old leaves that was lying at the end of the yard. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to capture every moment of the work, as the owner decided to help me with the cleanup. I also wanted to remove two stumps, but she decided to leave them for now and try to turn them into tables. Nevertheless, the job was finished—it took 4 hours—but since I started working after lunch, I had to reschedule the second job for tomorrow.
The next day, the weather wasn’t as sunny; there was a light drizzle and it was overcast. I had to trim two small hedges, which didn’t look very overgrown, but the client wanted to keep them in shape. First, as usual, I trimmed the side facing the road, and when I reached the door leading into the yard, there was a topiary that I also decided to trim a bit. Then, in the yard, I moved the trampoline out of the way and trimmed the hedge. Next, using a ladder, I trimmed the top. By this time, the rain was getting heavier, so I hurried and started cleaning up, first gathering the clippings into a bag, then raking two piles and driving up in my car to load them directly into the trailer. Next, I cleaned up inside the yard, and by the end, I pulled some weeds from the pavers along the hedge.
This job took me just over two hours.
